He was born May 06, 1894 in READING TOWNSHIP, PERRY COUNTY, OHIO, and died September 03, 1946 in PERRY COUNTY, OHIO. She married (2) THOMAS JACOB BENNETT. B E N N E T T Services were held this a.m. at 9 at St. Rose church for Mr. Bennett, 52, who died at his home here at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday. He received a neck injury in a fall in May and was in the hospital for a time. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery by C. L. Chute Co. Rev. Maurice Donovan officiated at the services. Survivors are his wife, Nell Spurgeon Bennett; 3 children, James F., Barbara Ann and Jerome T., all at home; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Nugent, New Lexington; a half brother, Fred Bennett, Columbus. He was a lifelong resident of Perry county and was a member of St. Rose church, American Legion and VFW. He was secretary of BPOE lodge 509 and a veteran of World War I. Children of NELLIE SPURGEON and THOMAS BENNETT are: i. JAMES2 BENNETT, m. JOANN BOLYARD. 2. ii. BARBARA BENNETT. iii. JEROME BENNETT. Generation No. 2 2.     3. Barbara, I, too, have a Skinner connection. Susie Skinner was married to Jonathan Colborn. They lived in Somerset Co. PA. Many relatives of this family, including my Robert Colborn, came to Ohio. Also, does anyone have a connection to the Eli Skinner that married Jane Criswell? He is reported to have been in Perry Co. in the early 1800's, then moved to Jackson Co., Ohio. He may have been the brother to an Adam Skinner. It would be a great Christmas present to find a connection to either of these families. Merry Christmas everyone!
