Hi All, I have been researching my family tree for many years and am ever led to Perry County, as most of my Dads family has lived there since the early 1800s or before. Recently I have found my GGrandmother was born Elizabeth Heck about 1824. Elizabeth Married Jacob Sanderson about 1849 and had a son she named William. Her husband died before the 1860 census and Elizabeth married in 1862 or 3 my Widower Grgrandfather Jacob Siniff/Sinift. They had a son James Milton who was my Grandfather. He was there only surviving child. Elizabeth was about 40 yrs. he was born, Jacob about 66 and the also were raising William Sanderson , Elizabeths son from her marriage to Jacob Sanderson. He was born around 1858. I am trying to determine who Elizabeth Hecks parents were. They may have been Henry Heck and Margaret Shafer/Shaffer. Henry was raised by his Uncle Frederick after the death of his Father Jacob Heck in 1807. If anyone is researching these familys or knows of them please let me know. William Sanderson is found living in Jackson Township married to a Laura?? The couple was still living in 1930.. Is this couple known to anyone?? I would like to find out Lauras maiden name and how many children the couple had. It seems to single sons lived with them in their later years. My Grandfather James Milton Sinift married Mary Catharine Musser abt. 1887. My Dad was born in 1918, his parents were 46 and 55 when he was born. He was orphaned at 12 and came to Michigan to live with his Brother Samuel Ezra Sinift. They both stayed in Michigan married and had their families. My Dad would be turning 90 this year. He died at 39,, as a family we only had made one trip to Perry County. I would love to hear from anyone who knows and of my family members. Some surnames are Sinift/ Musser/ McClellan/Tush/Lane/Kinsell/Binckley/ Reed/Skinner/Schaffer/Heck/Sanderson/ Sain/ and others!!! With Regards Sandra Firek Wyandotte Michigan

My apologies for the multiple messages about our new publication. Apparently some did not receive the first message with my email address. For all further inquiries, please contact me at [email protected] I promise to check return addresses more closely. Sue
Hi, This is the message I posted earlier on OHPERRY: The Perry County Chapter, OGS is pleased to announce that our newest publication, "Pre - 1900 Obituaries and Death Notices of Perry County, Ohio," is back from the printers and available for sale. This book is 240 pgs. (including an every name index with a cross reference for maiden names of married ladies) of obituaries and death notices as found in various newspapers prior to 1900. This publication arranges the re-typed obituaries in a column format such as you would see in a newspaper and has an attractive soft cover with a heavy spiral binding. Many entries in this book are simple death notices as published in local newspapers. Others are complete obituaries. A few Probate Court notices, especially for the older entries, are included, as well as a few Lodge or Association memorials. For further information regarding the cost / shipping of this book, please contact me at [email protected] If you would like to see more of this type of publication, please let us know. If the response is good, we may endeavor to work on a volume II. As always, copies of your ancestors obituaries / family histories, etc. are welcome. Sue Saylor PCC OGS Treas. & Cor. Sec. This is my follow up to Mary Levy: The Pre 1900 Obit. book sells for $25.00 plus 15% ($3.75) for S & H. Only Ohio residents need to pay tax, per their county's current rate and on the total of $28.75. Orders may be mailed to the Perry County Chapter, OGS, P. O. Box 275, Junction City, Ohio 43748-0275, or to me (check made out to the Chapter) at Sue Saylor, 780 Black Gold Rd., New Lexington, Ohio 43764-9724. Thanks for asking.
