Hi, I'm also interested in why people moved to Muskingum County from Loudon as my ancestors, the Dewars/Duers also did that in the late 1820s/early 1830s from the Hillsborough area. They were previously living in Middleburg. I assumed the move was for economic reasons as Muskingum County seemed to be more industrial at that time. Thanks. Marilee C.
