Gray, 77, a lifelong resident of Muskingum county died at 6 o'clock Sunday evening (31 July 1927) at the home of his son, Clyde Gray, four miles from this city on the West Pike. Mr. Gray was a member of the Springfield Chapel M. P. church and is survived by eight children: Mrs. Marshall Brown, Howard, Clyde, Wesley and Lewis H., of Muskingum county; Mrs Harvey Bonifield, Fultonham; Earl Gray, Cleveland; Carl Gray of Ambridge, Pa.; two brothers, Rev. J. H. Gray, Akron; Austin Gray, Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His wife, the former Sarah Elizabeth Van Horn died twenty years ago. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the home. Burial will be in Timber Run cemetery. The Times Recorder, Zanesville, Ohio Monday August 1, 1927
