When you get to the ancestry page - its asks you about starting your family tree. Put a name in the first space (where it asks for your name), then click next - and click next through the next several pages (without filling the pages out). Finally it will say that you've created the xxx family tree (xxx being whatever name you put it). Then go to the top of the page and click on the search tab. And you can do regular searches.
