Armstrong, 21 ZANESVILLE - Pfc. David C. Armstrong, 21, of Zanesville, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, following injuries sustained in a Humvee accident. He was born Saturday, June 1, 1985, in Galion, the son of David E. and Marcie H. (Voss) Armstrong of Zanesville. David graduated from Maysville High School in 2004. He loved baseball, football, motorcross riding and racing and most recently his 2001 black Mustang GT. David joined the U.S. Army March 25, 2005, after six months of training for AIT (Advanced Individual Training) for Military Police. He graduated with the 787th Military Police Battalion; he then went to South Korea for a nine-month tour with the 57th M.P.Co. In July of 2006, he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, and was scheduled to come home Feb. 10 for R and R. He was to complete his tour on June 10, 2007. Stationed in Iraq together, David was known among the group of the "Four Brothers Forever," Ambrose, Armstrong, Barraza and Stanton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tasia M. Warne Armstrong, who he married on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005; two sisters, Laura A. Garrett of Zanesville and Julia D. (Justin) Caton of Roseville; paternal grandparents, Charles (Esther) Armstrong of Galion, maternal grandmother, Marcella Voss of Galion; a brother-in-law, Chase S. Warne of Zanesville; his mother and father-in-law, Terry and Marcie Warne of Zanesville; his two nieces, Josie Caton and Olivia Garrett; a nephew, Ethan Garrett; numerous friends including his best friend, Jordan Wilkes; and his beloved pet dogs, Bo, Razor, Skye and Gage. He was preceded in death by Pfc. Tyler Butler, who died with David on the same day who will always be remembered by the Armstrong family. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, with Pastor Marc Caton officiating.
