This obituary appeared in The Times Recorder, Zanesville, Ohio, Monday 31 January 1972 Mildred R Wintjen 62 of 918 Thomas Lane Columbus died Saturday in Riverside Hospital in Columbus following an illness. She was born 5 January 1910 in Zanesville the daughter of Grover and Ruth Cornell George. her grandfather was the late Attorney A A George. Mrs Wintjen was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church and the Eastern Star both of Columbus. She is survived by her husband Charles; two daughters Mrs Leon (Barbara) Powell of 3950 Darcie Road and Mrs Dan (Ruth) Coole of Orville and seven grandchildren. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 today at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Columbus where services will be held at 11 am Tuesday conducted by Pastor Gene L Kinney. Burial will be in Glen Rest Cemetery at Reynoldsburg.
