This obituary appeared in The Times Recorder, Zanesville, Ohio Tuesday 21 July 1953 George D Baum Called By Death George D Baum 85 of Trinway died at 1:45 o'clock yesterday morning at his home following a lingering illness of a heart ailment. Mr Baum was a retired farmer. The son of Robert and Isabelle Miller Baum, he was born 2 February 1868 in Madison Township. He was a life resident of Muskingum County and had made his home in Trinway for the past 35 years. In November of 1919 he married Sarah Householder. Mr Baum was a member of the Dresden chapter of the Modern Woodmen of America, the K of P Lodge, the Grange and the Salem Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters Mrs Arizona King of 622 Prospect Avenue and Mrs Edith Bagent of Dresden; a step-daughter Mrs Harley Williams of Dresden; a brother John Baum of West Virginia; two sisters Mrs Mary DeLong of Warren and Mrs Nellie Graves of Orchard Street; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Four sons preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Trinway Methodist Church. Rev J Rollin Kunze will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. The body was taken to the Shirer and Son Funeral Home in Adamsville and later returned to the residence where it will remain until services.
