Zanesville Courier 6 Sep 1906 Victim of Sawmill Boiler Explosion was Young Man Held in High Esteem by all His Associates Harry W Mautz, son of Lawrence and Matilda Mautz, came to his death as the result of the explosion of a sawmill boiler near Duncan Falls on Aug 29, 1906. He was born September 7, 1884 in Springfield Township, Muskingum County Ohio. There remains to mourn his death besides his parents, two brothers, Charles and Clarence. Also three sisters, Mrs Ella Myers, Flora and Violet Mautz. He was a young man of steady habits, industrious, genial and sober. He was greatly beloved in his home, where his sudden and tragic death has brought such deep sorrow. The funeral service was conducted at the home by Rev T H Taylor of the Chandlersville M E Church and the interment was made in the Duncan Falls Cemetery. Mr Mautz the father is well and favorably known throughout Muskingum County as a member of the board of infirmary directors.
