This obituary appeared in The Adamsville Register, Adamsville, Ohio Tuesday 26 April 1910 DIED IN IOWA Andrew Jackson Well Known Here Passes Away In the 73rd Year of His Age William Walker of Otsego received the sad news of the death of his brother-in law Andrew Jackson which occurred at his home in Ottumwa, Iowa, in his 73rd year on the evening of the 18th inst and which caused a great gloom of sorrow to his many friends and numerous acquaintances at his boyhood home. Andrew Jackson was a man of pleasing appearance who made numerous friends where ever he went. Those who knew him best loved him most. On December 24 1863 he was married to Martha J Walker of near Otsego, Rev Mr Sedgwick officiating. After spending five years of married life near this place they moved to Wappello County, Iowa. He engaged in farming and by industry and frugality he became quite wealthy. he was a man of many noble qualities a loving husband and a kind father in all ways ready to extend a helping hand to those around him. The wife of the deceased died the fifth of April one year ago very suddenly. He never fully recovered from the shock although it was not the immediate cause of his death. On going to the county fair last fall and eating lunch he got ptomaine poison from which he has been a sufferer ever since. And now that the end has come life's sorrows and cares have passed away and has been called to his final reward, may the clouds of the valley rest lighter on his breast and may He who tempers the wind to the shorn lamb deal kindly and gently with those who are left to mourn their great loss. he leaves two brothers William of near Otsego and Abraham of Kansas and four sons who reside in Ottumwa and are William W, Sheriff of the county now on his second term; Levi a commercial traveler and Joseph F and Abraham M who are in the Livery business.
