She was the widow of William Harry Martin, former physical director of the YMCA, who died in 1949. The last surviving member of six children, she was the youngest child of John and Jane Drake Kelly of the old Dresden road, Muskingum Township, Muskingum Township. A descendent of two pioneer families, she was the grand-daughter of the founder of the Drake Lumber Company in 1820 in Zanesville. Her great-grandfather, John Kelly, served in the Revolutionary War. John Winthrop, early governor of Massachusetts, was also related. Mrs. Martin graduated from Kelly School in Muskingum Township in 1904 and taught there two terms. She graduated from Meredith Business College in 1907 and later worked as secretary of the YMCA and was in charge of subscriptions for the building of the present building. She was th! e last living member of Catherine Drake Literary Society and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and St. Hilda's Guild of the Church. Surviving are two sons, William H. Martin Jr., professor at Miami University in Key West, Fla., and John Kelly Martin of the home; seven grandchildren, Bill Martin of Athens, and Mary Maude and Melanie Martin of the home, Mrs. Martha Steadman of Key West, and Charles, John and Mary Ann Martin of Key West, one great - grandson. Five brothers are deceased. Friends may call at the family residence at 740 Convers avenue afternoon today. Requiem mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. James Episcopal Church with Father Jack Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cyril Sibbring, Harry Lucas, Ralph Lane, Clifford Kelly, Warren McCormick and Presley Evans.
