A great grandparent is not that far removed from this lady that oral history would be very far off. What interests me, however, is whether the John Kelly of Union township is the same John Kelly. He is the only John Kelly so far I can substantiate who existed in Muskingum old enough to be a Revolutionary War Veteran. Do you suspect they are the same man and that perhaps his descendents are the ones who moved to Muskingum township? There should be records from the script warrant act files to substantiate land purchases for him if he did indeed claim land under it. Are there possibilities he may have moved to another county first on this land, sold it and then on to Muskingum? Thank you for posting this.
