They arrived August 1, 1871, in Smith Co, Kansas. Among the families were the Hammonds. Chadwicks, Andersons, St Clairs, Kings, Jones, Rogers and others. I am seeking information on the wagon train migration and these pioneers. I am interested in the route they took to Kansas, where they might have stopped along the way and what caused all of these families to leave Ohio for the frontier in Kansas.
