Steven A. Hursey GLENFORD: Steven A. Hursey, 62, of Palmer, Alaska, formerly of Glenford, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville, Ohio after a brief illness. Steven was born October 13, 1952 in Zanesville, the son of Glen A. and Bonnie J. (Campbell) Hursey of Glenford. He graduated in 1970 from Sheridan High School and the Heath Vocational School while working as a skilled draftsman for Travco Motor Homes. Steven moved to Alaska in 1972 to pursue the "Last Great Frontier". He worked on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, in the oilfields of the North Slope and Cook Inlet, and various jobs on the Aleutian Islands to name a few. Steven was an avid outdoorsman who liked to hunt, fish, pan for gold and hunt for fossils in the mountains. He loved to share stories about the great state of Alaska with anyone who asked or was willing to listen. In addition to his parents, Steven is survived by a step-daughter, Claire Hursey of Palmer, Alaska; a brother, Gary (Connie) Hursey of Zanesville; two nephews, Ty (Denita) Hursey of Norwich and Ross (Kelsey) Hursey of Katy, TX; a niece, Logan (Aaron) Bates of Thornville; a great-nephew, Easton Hursey of Norwich and a great-niece, Jolene Hursey of Katy, TX. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Mt. Perry United Presbyterian Church, Mt. Perry, Ohio, where Steven was a member most of his life, with the Rev.
