Born near Chandlersville, Ohio (Muskingum County) to Merle (Murl) Leslie and Leah Lyons, and raised in Adamsville Ohio. After serving in the Army Air Corps in WWII, Don returned to Columbus Ohio to work as an electrician for Claggett Electric Co. He finished the last 25 years of his career as a Senior Technician at Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio where he had his name associated with several patents. Don loved fishing, bowling, golf and the Cincinnati Reds. Preceded in death by brother, Edis; and sisters, Florence E. Lyons Neeley and Ethel Lyons Scott. Donald is survived by wife of 72 years, Pauline (Ferrell); daughter, Diane (James) Short; grandchildren, Greg (Laura) Short and Amy (Mark) Farrell; and great grandchildren, Katie and Emily Short and Jack, Nick and Luke Farrell. Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 10 AM until time of service at 12 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Neeley, both of Youngstown, Ohio; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John Scott of Orange, California; two brothers, Edis Lyons of Spencer, Ohio and Donald H. Lyons of Columbus, Ohio.
