(Ward) Oldham NEWARK: Mrs. Gamilla J. (Ward) Oldham, age 96, of Newark, Ohio passed away Friday, October 3, 2014 at Kendal at Granville. ) Granville, Ohio) She was born January 19, 1918 in Elyria, Ohio (Lorain County) to the late Frank Louis and Ella Mae (Bendure) Ward. Mrs. Oldham was a graduate of New Concord High Schoo, New Concord, Ohiol and attended the First United Methodist Church. She had previously resided in Zanesville, Cambridge and Newark, Ohio. Gamilla enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques and tending the roses in her garden. She enjoyed watching sports especially, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. Her family was most important and she will always be remembered as a kind and caring woman. She is survived by three children, Pamela Moyer of Savannah, GA, Robert Oldham II of Newark, Ohio, Stephen (Lauretta) Oldham of Delaware, OH; and three grandchildren, Drew (Lori) Moyer, Justin Oldham, Alyson (Gavin) Hupp; and one great-granddaughter, Faith Moyer; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Robert G. Oldham, August 17, 2001. A funeral service celebrating the life of Gamilla J. (Ward) Oldham, age 96, of Newark, Ohio will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Steve Rath of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, OH (Licking County). Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, October 6, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street. Memorial contributions may be made to Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, 300 W. 10th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43210.
