When doing your search narrow yours down to newspapers and then narrow it down to one of those two newspapers. Just researching the names of my relatives in that area I found a lot of information. They have obit. and there is another section in the newspaper called "chit chat" which I found a lot of small town news like when they all graduated from college, when they hosted gatherings at their homes and I also found several wedding announcements.
