Jack was a big man . He would sexually abuse the boys that didn't have family visit them while at the Children's home. Sarah didn't want the boys to be born again christians so she would tell my mom who would read the bible to them at night. my mother was upset when she found out the lady also had her first name but her's was spelled Sara. Sara Truax (my mother) was a resident at age 10 after her mother died with three other siblings) at age 19 she became housemother for 26 boys at Avondale for two-three years. She tried to protect them when she could. Jack had to get weighted at the feed station because he was over 400-500 pounds and over 6ft tall.
