It is in the Greenwood Cemetery in Zanesville. He died 30 Mar 1863 and was the age 31 yrs. Does anyone know how to get a death certificate from that long ago? Also, is there anyone that volunteers to take pictures at that cemetery? I'd love to have a picture of his grave emailed to me. He is my ggggrandfather. My ggggrandmother's aunt Cynthia Ann Ragor Criner, and her cousin Ettie Criner are also buried there. Thank you so much for your help.

Thank you so much. You've solved multiple mysteries for me with this awesome find, including the origins of this "Walton" name. This was given as the middle name to a daughter of George and Martha James, Rebecca Walton James (b. 4 AUG 1836 in Zanesville, OH), but up until now I've been unable to determine where this name came from, the Abbot or the James side of the family. It's origins are very obvious now (both names) where "Rebecca Walton" came from now that you've found these James family graves there in Zanesville: she was named after her paternal grandmother. Thanks again. You really made my day! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Harper, 86, of Roseville Route 1 (Avondale), a retired dairy farmer and feed salesman for Occo Feed Company, died at 12:25 a.m. Monday in Mark Rest Center at McConnelsville where he was a patient 16 days. He had been seriously ill 15 months. He was born April 20, 1887, in Morgan County, a son of Carl and Aretta Shriver Harper. He had lived in Roseville area since 1927. Mr. Harper formerly served on Muskingum County Avondale Children's Home Board and was a member of Wolf Creek Church of Christ. Survivors include his widow, the former Lida Roberts, to whom he was married 66 years; a daughter, Mrs. John (Beatrice) Short of Toledo; five sons, H.Gale of 77 Kensington avenue, South Zanesville, Kenneth H. of Roseville Route 1, William L. of 3620 Wesley Chapel road, Dana J. of Route 7 and Cecile R. of Toledo, 33 grandchildren and a great-great- grandchild; a brother, Everett (Benny) Harper of Roseville and a sister, Mrs. Clara Hardin of Kinsington avenue, South Zanesville, a son, Gene, died in 1969. Three brothers, a sister, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild are deceased. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in William Thompson and Son Funeral Home at White Cottage conducted by Rev. Frank Crofoot. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Paul, David, Drew, Donald, Bobby and Craig Harper.

It must have been 1962, and there was no water because all of that land in front of the beach was where we were hunting. This ladies father owned most of that land.
