Hello List, My apologies for this 2nd request so soon as the first one but I neglected to give dates as I should have. We have been trying to determine if Israel b. 1756, d. 1848 or Alpha b. 1802, d. 1886, left wills. We have Israel's complete Rev. War Military Record's from the NARA. We are still attempting to prove the relationship between Alpha and his son Israel b. b. 1827 d. 1886 m. 1847 Mariah Boal b. 1830 d. 1868. We have found no evidence to this point in Illinois regarding this Israel's death; we did find the record of his 2nd marriage (1881) to Zulima Keeler b. 1833 d. unk that tied him to Alpha. We are still hoping to find a way to tie him to his son Charles Franklin Buker b. 1856 d. 1939 for the purposes of the DAR and FFO. If any of you Buker researchers have found anything then we would certainly appreciate the help. So far all the FFO applications do not mention Israel as a son of Alpha. We have not received all of them as yet though. Thank you all and Happy Holidays. Jan Buker

He was originally from Maine and was married to Sylvina Gilkey on November 29, 1792 in Isleborough, Waldo County, Maine. I believe that his family migrated to the Putnam area of Muskingum County, Ohio. To date, I have ten potential children of this couple. I have reason to believe that he was born about 1767 in Maine and that his wife was born about 1771 in Maine. She is the daughter of John Gilkey and Sylvina Thomas. >From an obituary that I have of one of their children, Gilkey Morton, I learned that they came to came to Ohio when Gilkey was four year of age making that about 1818. I found an entry in the 1820 census for Thomas MORETON in Springfield, Muskingum County, Ohio Source Citation: Year: 1820; Census Place: Springfield, Muskingum, Ohio; Roll: M33_92; Page: 117; Image: 89. The ages and sexes of the members of the household seem to line up with information that I have. After 1820 I lose track of Thomas Morton and Sylvina; however, most of their children marry later than that in the Putnam area leading me to believe that both of them must have died. Are there any really od death records for Muskingum County or any cemetery listings that might yeild some information? I know that they had a daughter named Lenity Morton who was married to John Balthis. According to a biography that I have Lenity Morton Balthis is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Putnam, Muskingum County, Ohio. Other children that I suspect may be buried there 9but don't know) are Hannah Morton Elwell Ashmore (d 1886) She was married first to William Elwell and second to Samuel Ashmore Clara (Clarissa) Morton Irvin Lovell. She was married first to William John Irvin and second to William Lovell. Is there a kind soul out there that can tell me if they are buried there or if Thomas and Sylvina are buried there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Blessings
When you get to the ancestry page - its asks you about starting your family tree. Put a name in the first space (where it asks for your name), then click next - and click next through the next several pages (without filling the pages out). Finally it will say that you've created the xxx family tree (xxx being whatever name you put it). Then go to the top of the page and click on the search tab. And you can do regular searches. Funny - I just spent the day in Ancestry with my subscription and finally found the family of my grandfather's half sister - Hazel Violet Spencer. She married James Louis Castor and I've been looking for more on her for years. Today I found the obit of one of her daughters that names all the kids and parents and everything. I'm pretty happy! I couldn't have found it without Ancestry! And it's worth the money I pay every year. I can't wait until the 1940 census becomes available. So many questions could get answered then... sharon Sharon Burton CEO, Anthrobytes Consulting 951-369-8590 www.anthrobytes.com -----Original Message----- From: ohmuskin-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ohmuskin-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of E. I have completed so much research. I know who Philo's parents are. This is what I have compiled: Philo Buckingham, born abt. 1795, CT, married 1817 in Ohio; Frederick Buckingham, born 1827, Ohio, parents Philo Buckingham and wife; RECORDS: 1820 U.S. Census: Hocking Cty, Ohio, 1 male under 5 years; 1830 U.S. Census: Hocking Cty, Ohio, 2 males under 5 years and 2 of five years and under 10, 1 of 10 and under 15; 1840 U.S. Census: Swan, Hocking Cty.,Ohio, 2 males under 5 years; 1 male 5 and under 10; 2 10 and under 15; 1 of 15 and under 20 (6 sons) The 1850 U.S. Census lists four sons: Joseph, Benjamin, Charles, Jacob M. I believe Philo Buckingham, born 1825,in Ohio is the 25 year old farmer listed in the same census in Harrison, Vinton Cty, Ohio. There is a Frederick (who lists his father born in CT) listed in the Illinois census that year. However, that same year in November, Frederick was in Ohio and married Mary Ann Stodart in Ross County. Frederick was listed in the 1900 U.S. Census in Illinois, but not in the 1910 census, but Mary Ann is listed in it in Illinois living with her sister Hester. I believe Frederick died at some time between 1900 and 1910 in Illinois. I guess what I am looking for is a birth record, etc. that would show Frederick was born about 1827 to Phil and Imogence. I know there were quite a few Buckinghams that moved from CT to Ohio at that time, and moved around, so I hope all this will not be in vain. I am the great grand daughter of Isaac and Sarah B. Metzger Buckingham of Fayette County, In! diana. My Mother was their grand daughter, and she named me after Sarah. I have two older female cousins named Mary Ann and Nancy (for Nancy Parsons Manlove, my grandmother's mother). That was a trend in both families to pass down female first names. Again, thank you for your interest and help.

I can offer to keep an eye open, however, and if I run across something you might find valuable when I am researching, I'd be glad to look this post up and let you know.
