Hi! I'm researching the Husband family. I just found my fourth gr grandfather James Husband in the 1820, Jackson Township, Muskingum census. I found this entry through the help of Jean Hooper. His name is on the same page as that of Isaac Dove. The name of James Husban, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't show up in any index. James Husband had at least three sons. James, my third gr grandfather, Andrew, and William were their names. William lived beyond 1880. In the 1880 census, he indicated that his father was born in MD and mother born in NJ. This gives weight to family lore that we are descended from Herman Husband family from Maryland. If anyone else out there is researching the Husband family, I'd appreciate hearing from you! According to the map... Beaumont is northwest of Athens - along Rt 33 in ATHENS County not Meigs. Chauncey is just north of it and The Plains is south. Dear Listers: I just want to thank everyone who helped me with the research on the Mason and related lines that began in Hocking County and spread to other counties. I had enough information to get it all together and present it to Linda Mason Giles (who is originally from Hocking County) and her son Cliff (my son-in-law) at Christmas time in Orlando when we were there for the holidays. Watson, aged 27, wife of Talbert Watson, passed away at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of her sister, Mrs. Fred Bugglin, 1154 Wheeling Avenue, after a 10 weeks illness from a complication of diseases. She had been in a critical condition for the past two weeks. Mrs. Watson was a former well known resident of the Coopermill Road and was highly esteemed by all who made her acquaintance. She was a member of the Trinity M. E. Church and was affiliated with the Elizabeth Rebecca Lodge, Daughters of America, and the Daughters of Pocahontas. Besides her husband, she is survived by three children: Thelma, Violet and Teddy, all of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Willard Harrison, Mrs. M. Linskey, Mrs. Homer Jenkins, all of Coalton, O., and Mrs. Fred Bugglin at whose home she died. She is also survived by her father, Samuel Shumate of this city and five brothers, Amos, Joseph, Elijah, Samuel and Arthur Shumate, also of this city.

They were married in this city in October, 1906, but have been separated since Thanksgiving day 1924, according to the petition. Divorce, restoration to her maiden name of Frances Mauk, and the barring of the defendant from dower interests in her property, are asked. Attorney L. M. Soliday represents the plaintiff.

Besides the parents, he leaves a brother and sister, Solomon and Louise, at home; his paternal grandfather, Samuel Shumate, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rachel Sowers, both of this city.

Death resulted from diseases incidents to extreme age, superinduced by a fall which Mr. Bainter sustained about a month ago. At the time little was thought of the fall, but since its occurance, Mr. Bainter had grown steadily weaker until death ensued as above stated. Mr. Bainter was born August 15, 1804 on what is now know as the Stump farm, near Dresden, where his parents, who had come from Pennsylvania, had settled two years previously. He was married in early manhood to Maria Wilcox and four children were born of that union. Two of these, J. A. Bainter of Adamsville, and Theodore Bainter of Otsego, who had made his home with his father for about sixty-five years, survive. Jonas Bainter and Mrs. William Adams, the two other children, have been dead for a number of years. The faithful wife and mother died eighteen years ago. In addition to the relatives named, the deceased is survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Mrs. Robert Scott and Miss Nora Bainter of this city are grandchildren of the deceased and City Clerk C. N. Bainter is also related to him. Mr. Bainter was a stalwart Democrat of the old school and never, even after the hand of age had fallen heavily upon him, neglected to cast his vote at the various elections. He always attended the picnics and other neighborhood gatherings and in the course of his long life won hundreds of friends. The funeral will take place from the New Hope Lutheran Church, of which the deceased had been a member for years, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Harter officiating. The remains will be laid to rest at the New Hope Cemetery.

She had suffered a broken hip last Oct. 23 in a fall at her home and had been in failing health since. A native of Greenup county, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Lewis. Born April 12, 1868, she was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Christ. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Cora Martin of the home, Mrs. Emma Cremeans of Charleston WV, Mrs. Charlotte Gadd of Columbus, Mrs. Tracy Pangle of 639 Elberon Avenue and Mrs. Mildred Stiers of 1252 Blandy Avenue; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Arrangements for last rites are being completed at the Ransom funeral home.

HARRIS Mrs. Nancy Harris, 87, widow of John Harris, died at 1 o'clock Thursday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buchanan of 608 Woodlawn Avenue, after four months illness. She had been in serious condition for three weeks. The daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Graham, Mrs. Harris was born in Salem Township April 23, 1861. She was a member of the Norwich Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a son, Raymond of Akron; a brother, Aaron Graham of New Concord; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Graham of Sonora; four step-children, Gail Harris of Cleveland and Mrs. Fred Wurster of Barnesville, Mrs. C. V. Amspoker of Akron and Mrs. Ross Lightowier of Cambridge; and two grandchildren, Richard and Betty Harris of Akron. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Shirer & Sons funeral home, Adamsville. Rev. Welch of the New Concord Presbyterian Church will officiate and burial will be in the Norwich Presbyterian cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
