I am trying to find my great grandma. I think she might be buried in the Mount Zion Cemtery in Latty Twp But if she is, she died elsewhere. I know that they lived in Muskingum county so I thought I would see if anyone had any info on her. She was Louisa Elizabeth (Zent) Williams. I think she was born in 1838 or 1839 and was married to Lewis Henry Williams. She might have died on Nov. 9, 1895. Can anyone please help me out here

Armstrong, 21 ZANESVILLE - Pfc. David C. Armstrong, 21, of Zanesville, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, following injuries sustained in a Humvee accident. He was born Saturday, June 1, 1985, in Galion, the son of David E. and Marcie H. (Voss) Armstrong of Zanesville. David graduated from Maysville High School in 2004. He loved baseball, football, motorcross riding and racing and most recently his 2001 black Mustang GT. David joined the U.S. Army March 25, 2005, after six months of training for AIT (Advanced Individual Training) for Military Police. He graduated with the 787th Military Police Battalion; he then went to South Korea for a nine-month tour with the 57th M.P.Co. In July of 2006, he was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, and was scheduled to come home Feb. 10 for R and R. He was to complete his tour on June 10, 2007. Stationed in Iraq together, David was known among the group of the "Four Brothers Forever," Ambrose, Armstrong, Barraza and Stanton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Tasia M. Warne Armstrong, who he married on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005; two sisters, Laura A. Garrett of Zanesville and Julia D. (Justin) Caton of Roseville; paternal grandparents, Charles (Esther) Armstrong of Galion, maternal grandmother, Marcella Voss of Galion; a brother-in-law, Chase S. Warne of Zanesville; his mother and father-in-law, Terry and Marcie Warne of Zanesville; his two nieces, Josie Caton and Olivia Garrett; a nephew, Ethan Garrett; numerous friends including his best friend, Jordan Wilkes; and his beloved pet dogs, Bo, Razor, Skye and Gage. He was preceded in death by Pfc. Tyler Butler, who died with David on the same day who will always be remembered by the Armstrong family. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, in Zanesville. Memorial contributions may be made to Zanesville Police Department, K-9 Division, 332 S. Street, Zanesville, 43701. The cemetery is believed to be in either Muskingum or Perry County, Ohio. The tombstone is illegible to me except for the name on the bottom - RETALLIC. The man in the picture is said to be James A. W. Harney, who was born about 1852 in Muskingum county Ohio, and attended New Lexington School in Perry County, where it is believed he lived until he joined the army in 1875. Our John Hamilton was a teamster in Morgan County. 1860, Licking County OH, George King, 32, occupation butcher, Harriet, 32, Wm 10, Carlous(sp?) 8, Charles 6, and George 1. LDS shows George King married Harriet Williams ~1850, Muskingum County OH. Thought it possible that Harriet's maiden name was Robinson, rather than Williams.

    3. A couple of comments on the books; History of Muskingum County: Perhaps the best book is Early History of Zanesville by Elijah Hart Church. Mr Church was born in Zanesville in 1809 and wrote a series of articles 1874-1880 on the early history of Zanesville and its citizens. He was a contemporary of most of the individuals mentioned and he seems to have known them. The book is by Jeff Carskadden and the articles are reprinted even with the typographical errors. All articles appeared in the Zanesville Courier. The later histories of Zanesville and Muskingum County reference these articles. This particular book was published in 1986 by The Muskingum Valley Archaeological Survey, Zanesville, Ohio. it is available in many libraries. The other book published in the 1920's by Thomas W Lewis entitled "Zanesville and Muskingum County, Ohio, is a three volume set and is quite good. It is also available in many libraries and I have seen it at local auctions and antique shops for a reasonable cost. Buyer Beware of the Sutor reprint as there are missing pages from the original published in 1905.

    3. Jamie, There are 3 "history" books for Muskingum County beside the one you have listed on Ebay. They are Everhart (HISTORY OF MUSKINGUM COUNTY 1794-1882, with Illustrations & Biographical Sketches of Prominent Men & Pioneers.) originally published in 1882; Goodspeed (The Heritage Collection Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Muskingum county) originally published in 1892; and Sutor (History Past and Present of the City of Zanesville and Muskingum County Ohio) first published in 1905. Of these three books, Everhart's seems to be the most reliable. They have different information in them and are available at most public libraries including the State Library and Ohio Historical. If you are interested in the Everhart Book, that is an EXCELLENT price. I paid about $70.00 for mine several years ago.
