    2. >From the McConnelsville Herald, 3 April 1874 Mrs. Mitchell, better known to our citizens as "Aunt Polly Shivell," died at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. George S. Corp, on Monday evening last. Mr. Charles Munson and Miss Minnie Peabody, of Zanesville, were married on Thursday evening, the 26th ultimo, and immediately started on an eastern tour. Mr. James Weeks, who has lived in this township for fifty two years, removes to Zanesville this week, where he will hereafter reside with his son in law, Mr. Scott Wilson, formerly of this town. Mr. Wm. Simpson, of Bennett, Neb., has been spending a few days with Morgan County friends and acquaintances. He started on his return to the West on Wednesday. He is so well pleased with Nebraska that he wouldn't live in Ohio if a farm was given to him -So he says. Dr. W. W. Wood and family of Malta, removed to New Lexington this week. Sorry to lose them. Benjamin Wilson has bought and moved into the Eaty Fouts property this week. Mr. F. B. McGrew of Shawnee, has been spending a few days in town with his brother. Mr. Jasper McGrew is home from Westtown school where he has been spending several months as pupil and assistant teacher. Judges Granger and Evans, and Col. Ball of the Zanesville bar, have been in attendance at court this week. Mr. Marion Murphy has bought the Martin Kinney property in the eastern part of town, and will move into it this week. Messrs. C. B. Bozman & Co. Bankers, will close up their business this week. Mr. Wm. Fell informs us that he has removed form Spencer, to Walton W. Va. Mr. D. L. Jenkins starts tomorrow for Cincinnati, where he has been summoned as a regular juror in the U. S. Court. He will probably be absent for two or three weeks. Mr. J. D. Maris, and family of Chesterfield, removed to McConnelsville, into the T. D. Cheadle property, this week. Mr. Maris is a good citizen, and we welcome him to our town. Ezra Woodward, E. P. Dunsmoor and John Stitt removed to Zanesville this week. Mr. Wm. A. Brown, son of Dr. J. R. Brown, of this place, who has been traveling for some months in Europe, landed in New York on Tuesday morning. Capt. W. W. McCarty has removed to the stone house on Center Street, his first removal for twenty-five years. "Aunt Susan" Bemid has returned to the Hambleston property, on the North side of Center Street. (Note: Bemid is blurred and could be Bemis.) Deerfield Mr. Hiram Roberts and family leave this week for Murray, Clark County, Iowa, where they intend to make their future home.
