Hello all, Since the Smith name has come up. I'll pitch in too. My grandfather was Irving James Smith, born in Morgan County in 1907. He was the son of Aaron Thomas "Tom" Smith (1975-1949) and Rachel Mathilda (Dewees) Smith (1877-1948). Tom Smith was a school teacher. He was in turn one of the three sons of Stephen (1839-1929) and Elizabeth (Roberts) Smith (1845-1926). Stephen was a son of Thomas K (1813-1890) and Elizabeth (Starbuck) Smith (1816-1901). Thomas K Smith's parents were David (1776-1844) and Judith (Kirk) Smith (1776-1848). David and his sons were among the first settlers of Marion Township. I would be interested in hearing from any descendants. --- Dan Treadway postal: P. O.
