Hello, I'm fairly new to this list and would like to post some of my Morgan County interests. I'm looking for further information on the family of Henry and Ann Harris. In the 1850 Census, they were living in Mogan County in Penn Township. Henry was 61 years of age and listed as being born in Virginia. He had no occupation listed so I'm wondering if he was infirm. Ann was listed as being 32, born in Ohio. There children are as follows, all born in Ohio James Harris, age 11 Jane T. Harris, age 3 Julia S. Harris, age 1 Benjamin Harris, age 10 Emily Harris, age 16. Also living with them was Jared Jennings, age 27. According to the census he was born in Ohio, but I have other information telling me he was born in Pennsylvania. He is listed as a Farmer. December 26, 1850, he married Emily Harris. Jared and Emily lived in Ohio til at least 1854, when their second child was born. The third child was born in 1857, but I'm not sure if he was born in Ohio or Wisconsin. The fourth child was born in Wisconsin in 1859 or 1860. They settled in the Liberty/Viola area of Bad Ax County (now Vernon County) of Wisconsin. I haven't located them on the 1860 census. I think its possible that Henry might have died in Ohio, and maybe Ann moved on with Jared and Emily. I would appreciate if anyone has any leads on this family. I'm also wondering if anyone knows what vital records are available in Morgan County.
