    1. [OHMORGAN-L] FISHER
    2. In 1850 there was a family of Fishers. Joseph and Judith. They had listed with them children, John, Elizabeth, Thomas, Hannah, Mary J., Rachel and Ruth A. According to other researchers both parents died before 1860 and the children must have been spread out. I think I found Rachel with an uncle in Belmont co., OH and perhaps John and Thomas were in Washington Co., OH for a while. Believe that Joseph was married prior to Judith to a Hannah Harry who must have died. He had two children by this marriage, William and Sarah. Joseph's family was Quaker and the children William and Sarah were removed to Morgan County MM after Joseph moved to Morgan Co., but they are not listed as living with him in 1850. Does any of this family ring a bell with those of you researching the Fisher families in Morgan Co.? Joseph was born about 1804. Children of the second marriage were born between 1833 and 1847. Perhaps some of the other Fisher's took the kids in. Thanks. 2. Dan Treadway
    3. Hello all, Since the Smith name has come up. I'll pitch in too. My grandfather was Irving James Smith, born in Morgan County in 1907. He was the son of Aaron Thomas "Tom" Smith (1975-1949) and Rachel Mathilda (Dewees) Smith (1877-1948). Tom Smith was a school teacher. He was in turn one of the three sons of Stephen (1839-1929) and Elizabeth (Roberts) Smith (1845-1926). Stephen was a son of Thomas K (1813-1890) and Elizabeth (Starbuck) Smith (1816-1901). Thomas K Smith's parents were David (1776-1844) and Judith (Kirk) Smith (1776-1848). David and his sons were among the first settlers of Marion Township. I would be interested in hearing from any descendants. --- Dan Treadway postal: P. O. 2. Michael S. Beckley
    3. The 1820 Ohio census lists two people named Michael George on the same census page in Morgan County. The index, I believe erroneously refers to the younger as senior, when I believe it's an abbreviation for "second". Both men appear on the same page of that census along with the elder's sister Margaret Longstreth and a Robert Rose. My second great grandfather Isaac Rose married Robert Rose's daughter Catherine in 1833. Both men named Michael had children in the correct age brackets, that either could be the father of Isaac George, born in 1809. My questions include: Can anyone identify which Michael is Isaac's father? Can anyone verify that Michael the second is Michael's son or nephew? Can anyone find an index to identify reference numbers for estate records or wills in Morgan County, that I might be able to order copies of anything that exists for either Michael George, hoping to find a reference to Isaac? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Mike Beckley at msb@core.com
