    1. [OHMORGAN-L] Unravel the James Family Relation
    2. Greetings, Does anyone feel up to putting the James family relationships mess in order? You'll need a scorecard to follow this one. My quest is to find the parents of John James, m. Julia Woodward September 9, 1860 in Morgan County, Ohio (Deavertown). I believe that they are John and Hannah Early, m. June 9, 1825, again, in Morgan County. (I have eliminated Daniel James m. Esther Noyes Aug. 14, 1831 and John James, M. Almira Noyes (yes they were sisters) m. Aug. 27, 1839 because neither couple had a child named John. No other James marriage in Morgan County would allow for the birth of John around 1838. By proving that the following individuals are brothers and sisters (some cousins?) I think the mystery can be solved. John James and Julia Woodward m. Sep. 9, 1860 Henry F. James m. Mary R. Smith Dec. 31, 1857 Mary James m. Hiram G. Waterman Aug. 24, 1854 Henry C. James m. Hannah Barrel Jan. 21, 1855 Susannah James m. William T. Tobin Jun 17, 1847 ...could be others, all in Morgan County. Clues: Henry F. d 7/31/1917, Henry C. d. 5/28/1913 and John d. 1913 are all buried in Morgan County (are Mary Waterman and Susannah Tobin buried there?) Isaac, Alonso and Hannah Tobin are living with an Isaac James, b. Virginia, age 70 in 1860 census. Why would the Tobin kids live with Isaac unless he was a grandfather (father of the John who married Hannah Early?) A child of John and Julia is named Charles HIRAM, b. 1862 (in memory of Hiram Waterman?) This takes place in Bristol , York and Malta townships. I don't think Barrel is Hannah's maiden name, the 1860 census shows a George Barell, age 11 living with her and Henry. (Or it could be from her brothers marriage) Confused? I am. That's why I am enlisting your help. Forgotten the original intent? Sort out the James connection and find the father of this group. Thank you for your consideration. Jake in Ames, Iowa

I hope I'm not asking too much, but could you also check the 1850 census for the names of the children in the household of John James (m. 1825, Hannah). Thank you so very, very much. The 1893 md. license will have a date of birth on it. If you are not close to Morgan County, order the mds. for 1893 on film at your family history center and read it. In fact, you can make a copy of it for your own files. Further, you could check the 1900 census for Morgan county and see if he is still there and confirm ages, place of birth, etc. StPaula617@aol.com wrote: > Trying to confirm if the John Franklin DAVIS who married Sallie Jane MARTIN > October 10, 1877, in Morgan Co, Ohio is the same John Franklin DAVIS who > married Annie LAW on March 2, 1893, also in Morgan Co, Ohio. > > Can anyone give me some idea where or how to start?
