    2. Sue Alberts
    3. Thomas Ross researchers, I am looking for Clarissa Ross who married in Morgan Co. in 1830 to James W. Patterson. Haven't had a whisper of parents for her. If you run across Clarissa please contact me. James & Clarissa moved back & forth from Morgan to Muskingum county a time or two, but ended up settling in Muskingum by 1870. I did acquire some ROSS probate files from Muskingum Co., but there isn't much information in them. Here's what the family looks like: As you can see, Clarissa's birthplace is not exactly established... 3. I'm sending a copy of this to the list so we don't have lots of people doing the same lookup. p 106 Thomas Ross is actually p 105b family no698 714 Thomas Harper 52 Farmer Va Nancy " 52 va Hamilton " 32 O Franklin " 17 O Thomas Ross 7 Ohio Mary Harper 19 Ohio Betsy " 14 Ohio Now as to the other one he is on page 153B family no 618 618 Elias Hodgin 29 Merchant 700 Ohio Sarah 24 " O John " 5 O Eliza " 3 O Thomas Ross (has the strange double s that makes it look like Rofs 50 Constable Va William " 19 Cooper O Thomas Moore or Woore 18 Sailor O James Dewers 19 Tilor O Delilah Newhouse 16 Ohio Now I'd check out some guardianship records to see why Thomas was with the Harpers. That seems too young for an apprentice type relationship. The other possiblity is that Mrs. Harper was actually a Ross before. Shannon Moore jacksonville, fl "Barbara A. 1. [OHMORGAN-L] Vincent McCoy (1859-1899)
    2. Laurence E. Dickerson
    3. I am looking for information on Vincent W. McCoy. He was born in Harrison County in 1859, a son of John McCoy and Eliza Walker. According to Charles Hanna's 'Historical Collections of Harrison County,' Vincent married Ida Worstell, though I know nothing else about her. The 'Commemorative Biographical Record' of Harrison County, published in 1891, says that, at that time, Vincent was engaged in the practice of medicine in Morgan County. He died in 1899 and is buried at the Dickerson Church near Cadiz in Harrison County, though Ida is not. A 1946 note found among my grandfather's papers indicates that 'Dr. Vincent' had two children, a son and a daughter, but does not name them. I would be most interested in hearing from anyone who may know something of Vincent, Ida or either of the children. Larry Dickerson

Journel denies the Chicago story that John T. ALEXANDER, the great farmer and catle dealer of Morgan county, had failed and made an assignment. He has not made an assignment nor does he intend to do so. Sharyl Coordinator, Allamakee Co. IA http://www.newspaperabstracts.com

    2. Thanks to Nadine! I was just reading the info you sent to the list concerning the Adams/Holcomb family. It didnt have any connection to my surnames but I read all the way down and low and behold, there at the bottom was the names of my Great-Great Grandparents Luke and Mary Breese as witnesses of the will! I was so excited to see that. Luke Breese has been hard to get any info on so this was a great Christmas gift. Thanks so much for your contribution to the Morgan County List!! Sandi Taylor
