    3. Has anyone ever heard of the first name of Theodate for a female? I have run into it for first time. Does anyone know if this first name would be more popular among certain religious groups - Quaker? Mennonite? Does anyone know what it means? Thanks. 3. Is this from a census transcription? The closest thing I can think of is "Theodosia", which could have been written erroneously as "Theodotia"? and mistranscribed as Theodate. Good luck with that! (Seems like a such a unique name would stick out and be fairly easy to track down.) Would you let us know what you find out about this name? ---- "Karns wrote: > Has anyone ever heard of the first name of Theodate for a female? 3. Thanks, foreu and Nancy. I have never seen that name before, either, and did not have a clue that it was fairly popular. I have tracked down a lot of Quakers, too! Very informative.
