WICHTERMANs came to Monroe County in 1833 from Switzerland. My g-grandfather, Frederick, left in 1894. But Christian WICHTERMAN was County Treasurer from 1902-1906. He had also been the first postmaster at the Oak Post Office when it opened in 1884 (near Clarington), and was a became a partner in Archer's Feed and Flouring Mill in Woodsfield in 1905 (where the IGA now stands).
