I will post from it just as soon as I locate it again. Monroe Co., Oh The 1st 20 yrs Commissioners' Journal 1815-1835 June 8, 1815 Commissioners have appointed Isaac Atkison, John DAYLY and William Dement (by the request of Elisha Steephen), viewers to view the ground for a road in Seneca Twp beginning at line between Dement and Jacob Baker, thence along the north side of the old road intersect the old road below Prior's. August 9, 1817 An order granted to turn the road north of Dement's field. Isaac Atkinson, John DAILY, and Robert Carpenter is appointed viewers to view the eight day of November. March 10, 1819 Application to turn the road beginning about thirty five rods eastward of the house, thence as far as the bridge between Isaac Atkinson's and John DAILY's. Elijah Steen, Jacob Baker & John DAILY appointed viewers. Settled with judges> Levin Oakey, John Jones, Isaac Atkinson June 3, 1823 To a fine assessed by Court against Peter DAILY for fighting $1.00 June 8, 1825 John Carmicle then presented a petition for a new road beginning at Philip Allen's Saw Mill in the Highway Road on the Clear Fork of Muskingum, thence up said fork to Jacob Miller's and thence up said fork to Robert Martin's, and then up said fork to Thomas Forshey's, and thence up said fork to Elisebeth Hines, and thence up said fork to John Carmicle's, thence up said fork to Frederick Crow's and thence the nearest and best way to Lemuel Rucker's Senr., and thence the nearest and best way to intersect the road between Isaac Atkinson's and John DAILY's , which petition was considered and a view granted and views appointed to meet on the 3es QwsnwasY IN sWXWMVWE 1825 at Philip Allen's, towit, Thomas Floyd, David Sutten and Isaac Gray. And Elijah Andrews was appointed surveyor for the same. Bond. August 4, 1826 Orders issued to trustees [of] Perry, Franklin, Seneca, Wayne, and Elk to open the new road from Allen's saw mill to intersect the Barnesville Road near John DAILY's and Isaac Atkinson's June 2nd 1828 Session. Commissioners met on the 2nd day of June 1828 to wit John Henthorn, Wm. Crawford and John Linn and proceeded to business. A petition was presented by William Kent for a road leading from Marietta to Barnesville, commencing for said alteration by or at the BIG NOT (KNOT?) on the ridge between John DAILY's and William Kent's Mill, thence southward down a run to said Kent's, thence near the same route to intersect the aforesiad road south of Fort's Fork of Wills Creek. Bond given. Joshua Craig, John Bevin and Sylvanus Balding appointed viewers and Daniel Gray, Surveyor, to meet at Wm Kent's house of the 23rd of June inst. 12 Sept 1828 The reportsof following roads were publicly read and ordered to be laid over to be read tomorrow to wit, a road beginning at or near the Ohio River, thence the nearest and best route to intersect Brown's Road near the head of the Big Run. Also a road leading from Marietta to Barnesville, said alteration to begin at the Big Not on the ridge between John DAILY's and William Kent's, thence south down a run, thence on the same route to Fort's Fork of Wills Creek. Also the remainder of the reports read which was presented to the Commissioners on the 2nd day of June 1828 Monroe Co., Oh Will Abstracts Book 1 & 2 Book 1 & 2 No listings Obituaries of Monroe Co., Oh John Marshall Schoonover, son of T.B. & M.E. Schoonover, was born March 29, 1897, and departed this life October 7, 1918, aged 21 years, six months and 8 days. He united with the Mt. Olive U.B. Church about two years ago and took an active part in the church services. He was called to defend his flag and country in the cause of right and liberty September 4, 1918 and entered the service at Camp Sherman, Ohio. He had always been a faithful son and brother. he leaves to mourn his loss a father, mother, six brothers and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. E. DAILY at the home and in the churchyard at Mt. Moriah after which the body was laid to rest in the Mt. Moriahy Cemetery. More to follow
