The enumerators were not as "exact" as recents censuses have been. I have three different dates for my ancestors who came over in 1856 from three different sources; Julius Billeter's notes, the SS ZURICH passenger manifest, and the MN federal census of 1860. The publication "German's To America" has the same dates as the ships passenger manifest, but the name is spelled [transcribed] as Owbersall. .
