Their children were: 1. Samuel N. born May 12, 1859 (my notes show a son, Scott but I have no other family information. 2. William Allen, born May 30, 1861 (poisoned in 1900) 3. Oh. Pension application information by Hannah Dickson show Scott wounded at Battle of Piedmont, Va. and was left in hospital at Stauton Va. where he was captured. A certificate of marriage from Monroe Co. show Hannah married William Piatt on March 17, 1866. Harriet, born 1838, married Alexander McWilliams in Monroe Co. around 1866, they moved to Nevada Mo. then joined Alexander and Margaret Garrett in Derby Ks. in 1868. They had two children, Robert Oliver, and Lester. In 1872 Alex and Harriet moved to Texas. They later separated and Harriet moved back to Derby. Margaret, born 1843, died 1917 and is buried in the El Paso Cemetery, Derby Ks. Married Alexander Garrett and had two children, Anna and Herman. Anna married Sanford Burnell and their children were Myrtle, Margaret, Lawrence, and Mary. Herman married Mary Etta Rogers and had one child, Margaret Lucy. All the information I have given here comes from Margaret Lucy Garrett. Her family stayed in the Derby Ks. area. When Andrew Dickson died, Margaret Orr Dickson moved to Derby and stayed with her daughter. She brought many of the family letters with her and it is from these that her granddaughter started researching the family history. Some of these dated back to Monroe Co.Ohio and the Civil War. In a letter to my grandfather, Margaret Lucy Garrett said the grandchildren of Scott Dickson had written many of the letters to her grandmother from 1900 to 1914. Margaret Lucy has since passed away and I don't know what happened to her research and records, she was unmarried and had no children. I'll see if I can find anything on Margaret's next of kin, some may still be the Derby area. Also there may still be some of Herman Dickson's family in Woodsfield. Hope this will help, I will pass on anything else I can find. Milton McWillliams Omaha, NE
