These articles are for the benefit of the genealogy community and should not be harvested and sold for any else's profit Spirit of Democracy April 6, 1911 Sardis (crowded out of last week) John Fankhouser has taken charge of the hardware store here which he purchased a few week ago from A. C. Vetter. Mrs. W. L. Knapp and two sons of Sistersville spent a few days here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. P. Cunningham. J. W. Litten and family left Wednesday for Essex, Iowa, where they will make their future home. Mrs. Carrie Neuenschwander of Hannibal spent the past week here with Mrs. A. C. Vetter. Ralph Goodwin is home from Alliance where he has been attending Mt. Union college. The Pythian Sisters gave a chicken supper in the K. of P. hall Saturday evening. J. D. Nesbitt left Tuesday for Tulsa, Oklahoma to look after some business affairs. Mrs. Flora Goodwin entertained the Ladies' Aid Society Thursday afternoon. Miss Lou Wiley of Wheeling arrived Thursday for a short stay with relatives. George M. Towle has been visiting relatives in Wheeling for several days. Bert Noll of Sistersville was a business caller here one day this week. Miss Clara Rush entertained the Embroidery club Friday night. A. C. Vetter took charge of the First National Bank Monday. H. C. Thompson spent Saturday in Wheeling on business. Frank Litten of Bridgeport was a caller in town Tuesday. Miss Clara Cooley was shopping in town Saturday. S. M. Suter of Sistersville was in town Saturday. Oliver Gossett spent a few days at Woodland.
