These articles are for the benefit of the genealogy community and should not be harvested and sold for any else's profit Spirit of Democracy March 23, 1911 Sardis Fred Wohnhas will move his family to Rayland, Ohio, Tuesday. He has bought property and expects to make that place his future home. Rev. C. W. Litten of Essex, Iowa, a former Sardis boy, preached in the M.E. Church at this place Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Fankhauser are going to house keeping in the Vetter property on Mound Street. Miss Maude Ryne entertained her Sunday school class, the G and G's, at her home Friday evening. C. T. Thompson purchased a piano from the C.A. House Music Co. of Wheeling last week. Mrs. J.P. Goodwin will entertain the Ladies' Aid Society this week at their regular meeting. Mrs. Grace Seibert is visiting her mother Mrs. Adaline Anderson on Wheeling Island. W. L. Knapp of Sistersville spent Sunday here with his mother Mrs. P. Knapp. Mrs. J. M Goodwin very delightfully entertained the Ladies' Aid Society Thursday. J. W. Litten and family will move to Essex, Iowa, the latter part of this week. Mrs. Fred Griffon visited her parents Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Gehring Saturday. Miss Mae Harman spent Saturday and Sunday at Marietta with her brother. Dr. S. C. Griffith was a professional caller at Woodland, W. Va., Sunday. Supt. J. V. Nelson was a business caller at Bethany, W.Va., Saturday. Gene Thompson left Saturday for his work in the West Virginia oil fields. Dry. Dye of Sistersville was a professional caller here Monday morning. Miss Cora Schaffer is at Wheeling visiting her sister Mrs. C. K. Gano. Miss Kathryn Litten of Wheeling spent Sunday here with her parents. Carl Denbow spent Saturday and Sunday here with friends.
