Mrs. W. D. Moore of Parkersburg and Miss Evalyn Nesbitt of Sistersville spent a few days here last week with their sister Mrs. W. T. Webb. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schaeffer and daughter Francis of Wheeling are guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schaeffer of this place. Miss Lou Wiley returned to her home in Wheeling Sunday from a weeks visit here with relatives. Mrs. W. T. Webb very pleasantly entertained the Ladies' Aid society Wednesday afternoon. A. E. Watters and daughter Mrs. Jesse Baxter were callers in New Matamoras last week. Miss Kathryn Litten of Wheeling is visiting at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Litten. A social was held Saturday night by the Epworth League. A good crowd was present. Charles Wright, rural mail carrier on Route 2 moved to the Ensinger farm Tuesday. Mrs. Harry Ratcliffe of Wheeling was in town a short time Saturday afternoon. Morris Huffman has secured a position as matron on the Steamer Virginia. Rev. D. W. Harkins closed a two weeks meeting at the Church of Christ Friday night. Rev. Dixon of Newport preached in the M.E. church Sunday afternoon. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Barker Thursday. George M. Towle is in Parkersburg for a weeks visit with relatives. Miss Mae Harman spent Saturday and Sunday at Marietta. John Ensinger moved his family to Ravenna last week.
