Spirit of Democracy August 3, 1911 Sardis The M.E. choir gave a farewell reception Friday evening for Mrs. D. J. Martin, who left the first of August for Brookfield, Mo. A beautiful silver bread tray was presented her; twenty members were present. Miss Mary Case came up Saturday from her home in Parkersburg for a visit with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Goodwin. Misses Mabel Neuenschwander of Hannibal and Rhea Strecker of Marietta spent Wednesday here with Miss Erma Vetter. Misses Zona Muhleman, Golden Kaho and Marian Reeves of Hannibal were in town a short time Wednesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. George L. Titus and children of Huntington, W.Va., are guests of her sister Mrs. Oliver Gossett. Miss Neva Gano will leave Sunday for her home in Wheeling after spending her vacation here with relatives. Miss Mae Harman came home Friday noon from Marietta where she has been visiting the past month. Miss Lila Neibergall of Wheeling was the house guest at the Vetter home for a few days last week. Mrs. John Drollinger and daughter Rose are guests of relatives at Fernwood, Ohio. A.C. Frey, wife and daughters of Ellwood City, Pa., are guests of relatives at this place. Ed Richardson of Wheeling is spending his vacation here with his mother. Mrs. Vernon Tarr is visiting at the home of Will Rush near town. Mrs. Minnie Coffield visited with relatives in Sistersville this week. Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Cole are at Hannibal visiting with relatives. Prof. J. V.
