    3. These articles are for the benefit of the genealogy community and should not be harvested and sold for anyone else's profit Spirit of Democracy Sardis A number of our girls gave Mrs. C.E. Sole a miscellaneous shower Saturday evening at her home on Mound street. Those in the number were the following: Misses Adda Knight, Mae Harman, Maude Ryne, Nelle Martin, Erma Vetter, Lena Hess, Ethel Winland, Flora Frey, Calra Hess, Margaret Dunn, Ethel Thompson, Jennie Litten, Elizabeth Garden. A. E. Watters and W. L. Winland went to Matamoras Sunday in the Watters yacht and spent the day with the formers daughter, Mrs. J. O. Baxter. Mrs. Floyd Gano and three children arrived Saturday evening from Newport for a visit among relatives and friends. Miss Eva Nesbitt of Sistersville and Homer Richardson of New Martinsville spent Sunday here at the Nesbitt home. J. M Goddard and daughter Miss Bertha of Woodsfield are here for a visit among their many friends and relatives. George E. Hess of Avalon, Pa., is here to visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hess over Decoration day. Harry Winland of New Martinsville spent Sunday here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Winland. Messrs. George and Harold Goddard of Sistersville spent Sunday here with their brother William. Misses Ethel Thompson and Elizabeth Garden were shopping in Sistersville Friday afternoon. E. W. Litten is home for a short time from Ellwood City, Pa., where he has employment. Gene Thompson arrived home Sunday from a week's trip in the northern part of the state. Mrs. C.E. Sole entertained a number of her relatives Saturday with a six o'clock dinner. Mrs. E. S. Dunn and Mrs. George Martin were guests of relatives at Witten Saturday. George H. Cordel of Pittsburg spent Saturday evening and Sunday here with friends. Frank Schaeffer and family of Wheeling are guests of his mother at this place. Mrs. S. C. Griffith and daughter Lucile were shopping in Sistersville Saturday. Supt. J. V. Nelson was here Monday and Tuesday on a business mission. Miss Golia Farmer of Martins Ferry is visiting here with her grandmother. J. C. Williamson of Wheeling spent the past week here among his friends. Miss Mabel Rist is home from Woodsfield where she is attending school. Dr. S. C. Griffith was a professional caller in Bellaire Sunday. T. J. Hubbard was in town Saturday. George H. Martin is at home for a few days. Charles Dennis and sister Miss Verna were in town Saturday. Prof. P.E.
