Sardis (Received too late for last week) The girls of our younger social set gave a "Ghost Party," in K. of P. Hall Saturday to about fifty invited guests. A very pleasant evening was spent. P. E. Fraley, superintendent of the Hannibal public school, his wife and son Delbert were callers in town Tuesday evening. Mrs. A.C. Vetter and Mrs. Mattie Thompson were at Parkersburg Wednesday to attend the funeral of Samuel Knight. Charles Sole is home from Junction City, Ohio, where he has been working in the oil fields the past tow months. Miss Erma Vetter is expected home Tuesday evening from quite a lengthy visit with relatives in Pittsburg. The M.E. church choir held their weekly rehearsal at the home of William Goddard Thursday evening. Miss Flora Frey left Saturday morning for Ellwood City, Pa., where she will visit relatives for sometime. Mrs. George H. Martin returned Thursday from a pleasant visit with her sister at Huntington. Miss Ella Thompson and Mrs. E.R. Siebert were shopping in New Martinsville Friday. F.F. Bauman has opened a barber shop in the Vetter property on Mound street. Mrs. Priscilla Farmer is home from a three weeks visit at Bellaire and Wheeling. J. C. Williamson left Tuesday from Wheeling after a weeks visit here with relatives. Harry Winland was down Saturday evening for the "Ghost party." Vernon Mercer was up from Sistersville Sunday calling on friends. C.E. Litten was at home Sunday from his work in Martins Ferry. Frank Humphrey of Clarington was a business caller here Monday. S.V. Williamson is spending a few days at home with his family. E.W. Litten is home from Ellwood city, Pa., for a short visit. Mrs. Minnie Coffield is visiting relatives at Sistersville. A young child of George Lollathin has scarlet fever.
