Many Moores are mentioned in the early Will Books of Belmont Co, OH, as found in Lorraine Indermill Quillon's "Will Abstracts, Belmont County, Ohio, Vol. A, B, and C (1810-1827," Willow Bend Books, 2003. The entries may provide a hint to Moore ancestry. Also, the following petition was sent to Pennsylvania authorities from the western frontier pleading for help and protection against the incursions and murders of Indians in the Northwest Territory across the Ohio River.
