This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Casey, Farley, Wise Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SWB.2ACE/961.1.1 Message Board Post: I haven't worked on this line for some time so I am a bit rusty. From my notes, I have William b to 1830 in Franklin, Monroe Co OH. He lists his birth as PA on 1850 and 1860 census. Samuel Casey is listed on the next page of the 1840 Franklin Twp, Monroe Co OH Census, but I have not found a connection. ********************************** Here are some other possible clues I have collected although I have not worked out how and if they are related: --Going back to 1820 John Casey and Samuel Casey are in Union Belmont Co OH. Then in 1830 there is a John Casey age 30-40 (same age as Samuel and William) in Union Belmont Co. I couldn't find Samuel in 1830. --Mary Casey b 1812 OH marries William Farley in 1832 in Monroe Co OH. He could be the brother of William Casey's wife, Nancy Farley. I also have a transcription of some info on the history of Swazey from "Nine Communities of Monroe County Ohio, A History. It mentions the "Wm. Casey joined the setlement about 1837 living there until 1862, the time of his death." --Also from the same source "Jacob Wise, grandfather of Mrs. W Farley of Summerfield, Ohio, and Samuel Wise moved to the farm where the latter now lives on Wills Creek, ? or three miles west of Lewisville, in 1820. Jacob Wise came from Pennsylvania."---so IF this Mrs W. Farley is Mary Casey that m William Farley then her grandfather was Jacob Wise, but that is a big assumption with present evidence.. Thought you might be interested in another quote from the same source "Further down the valley a Mr. Wells from Virginia bought land on which he settled his sons in law, Shedrick King, Wm. Morris, and Solomon Forshey." Would love to discuss any additonal evidence or clues that you have and see if we can make a connection. Chris
