In going through the new St. Paul's German Evangelical Church in Monroe County, OH, by Dr. Shirley Harmon, I found: ST. PAUL'S, p 30: Olive Reiser, adopted child of Mr. and Mrs. Reiser, daughter of family name Latta, was baptized on her confirmation day in the Lewisville church, 31 Mar 1902. Since my maiden name is Latta and this is my great uncle's family, I wonder---does anyone know the first names of these Reiser's or anything about this family? I next looked in: MONROE COUNTY OHIO MARRIAGES 1867-1917: p 278 Fiber, Charles F. 32 Monroe Reisser, Olive 22 Monroe Jacob & Elizabeth (Haas) Fiber John L B Latta & ________ Moose 4 Sep 1907 Usually I see FIBER spelled FEIBER in Monroe Co records and did have the name of Mrs. Charles Feiber in the obit for John L B Latta (we have him as John Elba Latta) but had not seen Olive's name before. But I have John's wife (Olive's mother) as Hannah Schafer. Does anyone know what, if anything, happened to Hannah and why this little girl was given for adoption. I have John L B's mother as Emily Moose and think that perhaps the child didn't know her mother's name when the parents names were given on the marriage application.
