Goodwin and family left Monday for Riverside, California, where they expect to make their future home. Mr. and Mrs. John Shorts returned to their home in Woodsfield Monday after a week's visit here with her parents. Henry Theiss left Thursday for his home in Pittsburg after a weeks visit here at the Nesbitt home. Misses Flora Frey and Lucile Griffith spent Sunday with Miss Winifred Voegtley at Hannibal. Public schools closed the first month of school Friday. Work in all lines is progressing well. John Dunn, wife and Eddie Dunn of New Martinsville spent Sunday here with relatives. George W. Tubaugh has sold his ice cream parlor to Fred Moser of Winkler's Mills. Mrs. Lizzie Gatts of Captina is visting her parents Mr. and Mrs. P. Cunningham. E.C. Frey and daughter Flora were business callers in Woodsfield Monday. John Theiss, jr., left Sunday for Steubenville where he has employment. Mrs. A. C. Vetter is visting with relatives at Washington, Pa. Norman Huebel of Wheeling was a Sunday caller in town. Mrs. C.E.
