For those who are not yet familiar with this wonderful resource (the GNIS query site), I want to point out that in my experience, only about half the cemeteries which are still in existence today appear in the GNIS database. I have never been able to figure out any correlation between cemetery characteristics and inclusion in this database--it definitely is *not* size (my maternal grandparents are buried in a cemetery which has at least 40,000 burials but which is not included in the GNIS database). In summary, GNIS is great for locating *some* cemeteries, but the fact that any particular cemetery name does not show up in their listings has no meaning. Rollie
