John McClellan Workman, b. 28 Feb 1863 in Monroe Co ( prob. Sunsbury twp, book says Sandsbury) d. 1944 in Beallsville, Ohio. Married 4 Sept 1890 in Beallsville to Hattie Belle Morris ( b. 24 Jan 1867) in Sunsbury ( says Sandsbury) twp , dau. of Wesley Morris and Cealie Ann Stelle and had children b. in Bealsville. Hattie R. Workman b. 27 June 1891 and m. 3 Feb. 1910 to Floyd L. Riley; Josephine M. Workman b. 18 May 1893 and m. Vernon Heywood; Cealie Elizabeth Workman b 1 April 1898, married Griffih Cross; Clyde Workman b. 1 April 1896 and m. Nellie unknown last name. She goes on to tell a story that 3 Sept 1936 John McClellan Workman was badly injured while sawing wood at his home in Beallsville. A belt slipped and his left leg was badly mangled when drawn into the belt. Amputation about 6 inches below the knee was necessary.
