Reynolds, and Moses Hill, bill in chancery - on the 26 day of October 1827 Charles Magil, by his solicotor W.B. Hubbard, filed a bill of complaint against the defendants as follows: On the 13th day of Nov. 1814, one ISAAC SIMMONS owned Lot # 122 in St.Clairsville, with Mary, his wife, and for consideration paid to them by Wm. B. Reynolds of said twon, county, and state, deeded in fee simple Lot # 122, duly recorded with the recorder of the county; afterward, to wit on the 18 day of Feb. 1815, Wm. Reynolds, with Barbara, his wife, for $50.00 executed their deed to one Wm Brown of the town and county before said, and entered 7th day of Nov. 1817 duly recorded, all of which are hereto attached as exhibits 1 and 2. Said Wm Brown occupied said lot until about the 12th day of Nov. 1817 when for $75, paid to him by your orator, the said Brown and Nancy, his wife made a deed to your orator for Lot #122, and on the 22 day of Nov. 1817 duly recorded. . . But now, the said Wm. Reynolds combining and confederating himself with his brother John Reynolds who lives out of this state in the county of ___________ in Pa. and one Moses Hill formerly of this county, but who has absented himself and gone to parts unknown to your orator endeavor by fradulent meansto destory orator's title to this property, (Hill is pretending to have title and Reynolds pretending Hill is indebted to him by a note for $90 and said lot #122 is subject to the payment of the said $90.)
