    3. If you plan to do research in Monroe County, the courthouse is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 to 4:30. Birth & death records after 1909 are located in the Health Department, which is in the Senior Citizens Building on Home Avenue in Woodsfield. It is two doors away from the Monroe County District Library, where the Monroe County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society maintains a Research Room for Local History & Genealogy. The research room is open the same hours as the library. The website for the Monroe County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is www.rootsweb.com/~ohmccogs/.
