    3. Monroe Gazette July 23, 1891 Sardis, O., July 20, 1891. Dr. Ferguson arrived Monday and will remain a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Goodwin returned to their home in Pittsburg, Monday. Mrs. Retta Mays and Miss Minnie O'Neil, of Hannibal, spent Monday with relatives and friends in town. Frank Lemmon left for Pittsburgh Monday. Mrs. Presentine made a trip to Wheeling last week. Croquett seems to be quite an amusement for the young folks at present. Mrs. Lucy David and son, of Bellaire, were visiting her sister in town Monday. Mr. Hofer, of Hannibal, was on our streets Tuesday. Will Williamson, of the steamer Ben Hur, was on our streets Friday. Mr. Clem Duvall spent Sunday with friends and relatives. A select crowd of young folks went picnicing Friday afternoon on the West Virginia Hill and report a good time. Mr. Chas. Lemmon Sundayed with his parents and friends. Mr. Sam. Hofer made a trip to Pittsburgh last week. Miss Emma Johnson left for her home in Gallipolis Sunday evening.
