This instrument of writing is in words and figures following to wit: In the name of the Benevolent Father of all: I Abraham Melott of Adam Township M.C.O. do make and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st, I give and devise my beloved wife, in lien of her dower, the farm on which we now reside, during her natural life; & two cows, household goods, furniture, & provisions. Item 2nd, I give and devise the rest of my personal property, notes, bonds, moneys & e to my son Abraham J. Melott. Item 3rd, At the death of my beloved wife I give and devise all my real estate except seven acres to my son Abraham J. Melott, & also the two cows, household goods, furniture, & provisions. Item 4th, After the death of my beloved wife my son Abraham J. Melott is to pay each of my daughters namely, Mahala Headly, Rebecca Dakan, & Angeline Fouty one hundred dollars, but is to have his own time to pay it. He is to give no bond or security for the payment of the same. Item 5th, Mahala Headly is to help to take care of me & her mother during our last sickness & is also to pay half of our funeral expenses for which I give & devise to her the seven acres of land bought by me of Elias Melott. I devise that no appraisement and no sale of my personal property be made & that the [unreadable] of probate direct the omission of the same in pursuance of the statute. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me [unreadable]. In testimony hereof, I have hereunto set my hand & seal, this 3rd day of April, A.D. 1893.
