I have just returned from examining the 1880 census records in the hope of locating the state of birth for the parents of my William Dillon and his wife Elizabeth (?). I was not able to locate my William Dillon & wife in the 1880 census. William was born in OH in 1822/1823, possibly in Monroe County. He and his wife, Elizabeth were living in Monroe County in 1850 in Green township. They had three sons at that time. Abraham age 6, Henry age 4 and John age 3. About 1856 William & Elizabeth sold land in Monroe county and moved to Lineville, Wayne County, IA. Does anyone out there have any information on the parentage of my William Dillon and his wife Elizabeth (?) Dillon. They would have been married about 1843. Perry Adams.
